About

Hey all!

My name is Mai Nguyen. I am the College Guide at William E. Tolman Senior High School. I am a recent college graduate (2012) working for an AmeriCorps program based out of the Swearer Center for Public Service at Brown University called the National College Advising Corps. My job is to increase the number of low-income, first-generation college-bound students who attend and succeed at college. In other words, I’m here to help you with any questions you have about the college exploration, application, and enrollment process as well as financial aid and scholarships. I hope that this blog will help answer some questions you have about major topics of the college application process as they become relevant, including the college essay, Common Application, SAT/ACT, and more. For now, you can find me in room 206  if you have any questions or just want to chat about the college process, options after Tolman,  or if you just have a quick question that needs answering, feel free to e-mail me at maicollegeguide@gmail.com

I look forward to working with you!
